Hello Everyone,
I am planning to get a GTX 660 gaming card and i am not sure if my current configuration can give all the necessary power to the card.I have a 500 w PSU to support my build.

Here are my full specs of my build
Motherboard: Asus Maximus V1 Hero Motherboard
CPU: Intel 3.4 GHz LGA1150 4670K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB x 2
HDD: WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB Internal Hard Drive
SDD: Samsung 840 Series 120 GB SSD Internal Hard Drive
PSU: iball Marathon 500w
CASE: Cooler Master Enforcer Mid Tower Cabinet
CD/DVD drive:HP DVD1260i-UH07D DVD Burner Internal Optical Drive
Keyboard and mouse: Razer blackwidow 2013 & Razer deathadder 2013

Can the current PSU give all the necessary power to the GTX 660?Or should i get a PSU with a higher wattage?

That should be enough to power everything, but your PSU will be working pretty hard if you start putting some pressure on the CPU or GPU.

Is budget a big concern here? I think that setup will work, but it's probably not a bad idea to spend a little bit more money to get a PSU with a bit bit more wattage. It won't be working as hard, and who knows--maybe a year from now you'll decide you want another graphics card, and if you do, you'll have to buy a new PSU too. 😉

yes i am planning to get another graphics card later and run them both in SLI.Keeping this in mind would a 600-650 w PSU suffice?

The power supply is the most important part of any system. It isn't one of the components that you'd want to cheap out on. If you're looking for a budget but high quality power supply, I can highly recommend the Seasonic S12G 750W. Now if you want to invest in a eve higher end one, you can take a look at the Seasonic Platinum-760w.

Think of a PSU as foundation. Now a weaker foundation will hold the building right up until it falls down.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
