Grpahics card suggest, Rampage III, 4K Dell monitor

Have a FalconNW PC with a Rampage III mb and an nVidia Quadro 2000 graphics card. Just picked up a Dell 24 UltraHD 4K Monitor - P2415Q, and am pretty sure I will need to upgrade my graphics card. Not a gamer, do some Photoshop work,

so don't need a top-end graphics. Price not a huge issue but no need to spend $$ for horsepower I'll never use. Needs to have HDMI & DisplayPort outputs

Thanks

Hello bfinn19

Merry Christmas and welcome to the ROG forum !

The gpu requirements for photoshop is one that supports open cl 1.1 and 512mb of vram, that goes all the way back to the NVidia 8000 series gpu's. The 512mb of vram I will suspect is for 1080p and at 4k you'd want at least four times that much which is 2GB and you'd want a little more for head room.

I'd say one with 3GB-4GB of vram should be good for photoshop at 4k. You can get a gtx 970 which has 4GB of vram for around 300.00 u.s. dollars. The gtx 960 has 4GB of vram too and with a rebate at newegg the asus gtx 960 turbo 4GB is 189.99 u.s. dollars, it comes with a game bundle too. 🙂

If you think you will need more vram there is the 980ti with 6GB and is 649.99 u.s. dollars. If you think you still need more then there is the gtx titan x with its monstrous 12GB and is 1,000.00 us. dollars.
