Graphics Card speed issue

hello as my first post i would like to say that i love the ROG product line and how awsome it is.

ok down to the dirt

i just finished a new build with the crosshair v formula with 8150 fx
amd 6990

and all the other necessities
and heres my problem in the bios when i check on the gpu dimm it says that the card is only running at native 8x

i though these boards were supposed to run at x16?

i have my card inserted into the second from the top pcie slot to help cool it better and to keep my cpu cooler

do i need to install it in a different slot?

The first video slot is 16x

so only the first one is x16

read the instruction book about how to place the screencards, its all there, simple as can be.
