GPU TweakIt not launching

UserX
Level 9
I am unable to get GPU TweakIt to launch from a remote connect computer. I have installed ASUS ROG Connect Plus V1.00.14 to my RIVE PC and the ASUS ROG Connect V1.06.03 on my laptop. My PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate while my laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium (Both OS’s are fully update X64 additions). I have 2X 580’s in SLI on my PC (the cards are none ASUS GPU’s).

When I try to run GPU TweakIt from my Laptop I get the following error;

“The host PC is no responding. Please launch GPU TweakIt Server on the host PC.”

When I check the processes on my PC, I see that the GPU TweakIt process is not running. When I try to manually launch GPUTweakit.exe, it starts then almost immediately closes with the following error in my event log;

Dunno about EVGA but with my Gigabyte cards, Asus's own GPU tweak doesn't seem to work! As a workaround I'm using MSI afterburner instead.

Thanks, My main concern is that the GPU TweakIt Server crashes on startup

Thanks for the feedback I have not been able to duplicate this error. True I am using two ASUS cards even when I flashed the BIOS to read EVGA. I have passed this thread on to the dev team. They will be back at the end of CNY.

you must have all services turn on
especially Asus COM service etc
turning off one will make it not work.

I have not disabled or turned off any services. If you could point me as to which services and processes should or need to be running, I can check them.

I do see the following running.

Services;
AsSysCtrlService (RUNNING)
asHmComSvc (RUNNING)

Processes;
AsBCLK.exe (RUNNING)
GPUTweakit (STOPPED) FAIL with the above event

Thank you in advanced.

P.S.
I should have mentioned that the only ASUS software, other than drivers, installed is the ASUS ROG Connect Plus on my PC and ASUS ROG Connect on the remote.

Well got it working. After checking my services I found that I had to install the AI Suite II. I wish this would have been documented as it would have saved allot of time.

I had trouble getting the downloaded version of AI Suite II to install. I was getting an error in the event log with a silent fail of the installer. After a fast search I found and ran the AI suite II patcher but that did not fix the issue. I finally ran the AI Suite II from the included DVD, after I got the AI Suite II to display the installation screen I immediately canceled and ran the downloaded installer. This fixed the issue and I was able to get the AI Suite II installed.

Once everything was installed and rebooted I noticed that the GPU tweak service was finally running and stable. So I tested from my laptop and all is well.

I made the move from EVGA over to ASUS so I am unfamiliar with the software packages that ASUS offers. I cannot say that I am enthusiastic about the AI Suite II but I definitely like the RC tweaking. I think once I isolate the services ill just remove the AI Suite II.

Thank you for the help....
