Got Response on the R4E Board

Hey, I don't know if most of you may notice the update on my current R4E and how I said in another thread how I decided to RMA the board where I got it from.

Well I just got a response showing that there is one slight bent pin on the motherboard and they usually charge for this for repair but will do it for free for the goodwill. (Just a note that this First R4E board got brought from PCCaseGear not Gamedudes)

But aneway I didn't built that board, Gamedudes did & Remember how they couldn't find the fault on it on why it wont post (It lasted for 6 months until the cold post issue started to occur).

That was when I thought I give the board a 2nd chance and get the replacement R4E from Gamedudes since they couldnt find the fault with the current one, that has the Cold post issue

and so that was when the cold post turn on issue again occurred during the 4 or 3 months time and that's when I decided to get the Rampage IV formula from PCCaseGear and did the build myself.


After I took the cpu and checked the Gamedudes R4E board the pins were bent like nuts at places and I was like.. "man they didn't look after the board properly"

but aneway, I'm being looked after on PCCaseGear side of it, (and they gonna test on it before sending it back) but on the R4E board but not sure what to do with it..

Oh yea, why can't computer shops like Gamedudes have something like that other than using their bare hands. Since of what they manage to do on the other Rampage IV Extreme Board.. If only this tool was worldwide around and easy to get for those that need a safer and easy installation.

But any who, that's just life I guess. Have to hunt things down the hard way. >-<

Funny that, when you responded on that about the tool. I just email them on the cost of the Factory sort about the socket 2011 and the socket 115X type (cause in time I'm thinking of upgrading mums computer to go with a 1150 Socket from a 1366 one.In other words upgrading motherboard from Rampage II extreme to a more suitable board that she only tends to use that is cheap and not expensive.)

But of course I need the 2011 one cause I'm thinking of either giving the Rampage IV extreme another chance... Even though I probably off more better off replacing a few things. But the most annoying thing is to reinstall windows again.

good to have around I suppose... personally I install mine by hand at the moment, but I think you can score one of those tools for under $40 bucks USD.

it's a must have if your a builder and seller of systems or doing mass installs of cpu's to mobo's. The place you bought from may not have had it, which raises an eyebrow...

Australians do get royally ripped off with postage fees. Not sure if you are aware of it, but due to the AUD being so high (well not lately) against the USD a load of Reshipping businesses have popped up in the USA. So, with a lot of companies, they have their retailers adopt a "store policy" which means they cannot ship products overseas to certain countries because the markup they have in those countries makes them lots of money. Go capitalism. Anyhow, These businesses get around these "store policies" by buying the product on behalf of you, for a small fee, have it sent to them, then reship it to you. I know for cheaper products like that Intel CPU installer you don't save as much but you may do on the shipping, here's an example of a shipping calculator for one of those reshippers

Keep this in mind next time you go to do a system build because you can save a load of money getting certain things sent from overseas, and it's not just limited to IT gear, think clothes etc. Remember USD have different voltages so PSUs have to have switches for 110 to 240. Also make sure you check up on the exchange rate for AUD/USD as this can make a lot of difference to prices. But generally, if you're getting parity with USD, you are saving money.

Yeah also its the same things on games to, how the prices for games in US is like $50 or so but when it comes to Australia it rates up close to $98 or such.

ok, I got an update status on the motherboard. It all seems like I be getting my money refund back and it should be credited to me within 3-4 working days or less.

So all in all it just shows that I know where to stay and that is the Formula board :3
