Getting Aura to work with Asus x99 ROG Strix

Logick
Level 7
Hello, I recently built a new PC using the ASUS ROG Strix X99 Mobo. Everything has been working fine except aura. I ran it a few times and it was working fine, but at on point it froze on me, so i killed the process. Now whenever I run it nothing happens. The AsRogAuraService.exe is still running, but that's it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advanced.

V 1.03.23 seems to work well!! Though no sync 😞

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/AURA_Win7-81-10_VER10323.zip?_ga=1.214074007.1069128761....

Am using z170 pro gaming/aura on i7 6700K.

Hi, I had same problems with aura app (on STRIX Z270E Gaming), but I found new ver. of Aura - V1.04.21 (from 19.01.2017- so fresh). I already install it and problems seems to disappear. Now it consume max 0,1% of CPU and work perfect. When I had V1.04.09, AsRogAuraService consume 25-30% of CPU and in this state Aura doesnt work.

I hope this new version finally solve the problem for everyone.

You can find it under win7/8.1 64bit (under win10 not - i dont know why, but it works also on win10)

I've run into this as well on my X99 A-II occasionally. It seems to spike for me, but then go away, so it's a little baffling. I also have the 1070 Strix OC and only once did the lights get out of sync, so that hasn't been an issue. I like the ability to sync up lighting effects, but if it's going to constantly get into 8-10% CPU usage area, I don't think I can justify using it, especially since I'm using this PC for some heavy workloads.

Side note, I've noticed some bugginess with AI Suite 3, particularly when it made my GPU go haywire and I had to reset Windows to get things working again. I've learned not to touch the GPU section, which is probably just a dumb move on my part since GPU Tweak II is on my system as well (which also seems buggy at times).

Love the board, love the GPU, meh on software.
