gene-z and windows 8 preview

has anyone gotten this to work? I'm running 902 bios, and have disabled everything I could and even put my drives on the grey sata 3 connectors. It refuses to install, after the first reboot while detecting hardware it freezes.

I tried to inject RST drivers hoping that would work, but it seems win 8 uses a different driver model. Most of my attempted rebuilds injecting assorted drivers to the windows 8 install failed to import.

um which version of Windows 8 are you trying to install - the one from MSDN works fine.

was the developer preview you can DL even without being a developer on MS's site. No need to even log in to MSDN. I got the image without the developer tools.

Don't know why it didn't work for me, motherboard was stock except for my video card. It always froze while detecting hardware.

ASUS is not supporting Win8 at this time sorry guys you are on your own with this one 😞

whats the hd set to in bios??

are both of Uguys loading on a clean drive?
or as a second OS?
are there other drives? usbs plugged in??
ps2 keyboards??
it is seeing something it did not expect...
what of memory profiles?? are uBoth using default bios settings??
or are you OC'd from your other OS?

What hardware are you using?? if both were listed..we might
see the same two pieces of hard ware that may or may not be an AhHa !!!

About my hardware config:
i7 2600k 3.4@4.6 / ASUS Maximus IV GENE-Z / 4x2GB Kreton DDR3 1333@1600
2x Sansung 1TB Sata2 RAID0 / Dell E2210 FullHD / GeForce GTS 250 680/1000/1632 / Corsair 750w

About my HD, i use a single clean disk sata to do the install windows 8
About my BIOS configs, i tested many configs:
1- Restored to defaults, disabled all unecessary features and changed the fisical memory in another test too.
2- Removed all USB and no need HDs/Blueray drive, and put and USB Keyboard (my Microsoft Keyboard have the ps2 connector).
3- Removed the GTS 250 and put an HDMI cable direct connected on my TV.

Another think, i have succeful installed Windows 8 on other 4 computers, and 2 notebooks. The unique with problem is my ROG pc.

I'm developer, and use the Visual Studio 11 to develop many METRO apps, and use Windows 8 to test the apps. For development i use the VS11 for windows 7.
My only solution at this time, is use the VMWARE for the tests.
