Gene VI Won't Resume From Sleep

I'm having an issue with my new Gene VI system not resuming from sleep.

The computer goes to sleep just fine, but won't wake up. If I tap a key, the keyboard lights up, but the computer doesn't actually wake up. I'm forced to hold down the power button on the chassis and do a full shutdown/startup from scratch.

I have the latest bios installed. I have no idea where to start troubleshooting this further... help?

Please list your hardware and indicate if you have OC your CPU and if you have OC your memory.

Not sure what else you're looking for in terms of specs. Apart from the motherboard and CPU I had every component in a previous i5-2500k system that did not exhibit this issue.

I am overclocking the CPU, not the memory. However, I've tried restoring default bios settings and have the same issue.

Please run memtest86+ as per my sig Sleep is an issue with memory most of the time.

One quick question is this a clean OS for this CPU and motherboard? If no then there is a strong possibility that is causing your issue.

Yes, clean install of the OS after I installed the new MB and CPU.

Another thing I just noticed that seems maybe related? I have the monitors set to shut off after 10 minutes of inactivity, however when that time limit is hit the monitors shut off, then the computer reboots Nothing in the event logs other than "The previous shutdown was unexpected"

I have no other issues with my video card (GTX670, latest drivers) when gaming, etc... and it was installed in my previous system that exhibited no sleep/power issues

I will run memtest but I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if it uncovers any issues because I've tried this with several combinations of my 4 dimms and saw no difference and, again, this memory worked in my previous system.

I accept that it may not be memory, but since memory is the foundation that all of your system depends on let us remove that as a variable.

You could do one thing before your start - using a fat formatted usb stick and Ezflash2 in bios update your bios to the latest version, or if already the latest reflash via the bios for me please.

memtest revealed no errors.

Bios is updated to the latest version 1102 released on 11/20, that was the first thing I tried to get this issue to resolve. I also re-flashed/updated per your suggestion

Just to close the loop on this. I cleared the CMOS (instead of just loading defaults) after which I could wake from sleep successfully with the default bios settings.

I then systematically re-implemented all of my overclock changes 1 at a time trying to figure out what was breaking it... and it never stopped working. I did run into an issue where I blue screened on waking once I hit 4.3GHZ, but I bumped the voltage a tick (to 1.175) and that seemed to take care of it. So... no clue what the issue was, but it appears to be working now???

- Core multiplier - 43x
- LLC - 5
- Voltage configuration - adaptive
- Voltage offset - auto
- Total adaptive voltage - 1.175
- CStates enabled (including 6 & 7)
- Boot Logo - off
