Gene VI, No USB Devices Work Except Mouse and Keyboard

So I have a Gene VI with a 4770K, 16GB Corsair Dominator RAM, Win 7 64bit on 2X Samsung 840 Pros in RAID 0, and 2X 780TIs.

I put my computer to sleep every night but yesterday noticed that it was shut all the way off when I came back to it. When I booted it up it said Windows failed to shut down properly blah blah blah so I started Windows in Normal mode. Upon getting into Windows I noticed that my Logitech webcam, Corsair gaming headset, and Seagate external HDD were all not working. The webcam and headset cannot have their drivers installed correctly and give me the "Device Cannot Start Code 10" in the device manager. The HDD became bricked and the computer couldnt recognize its partition and wants me to format it whenever I try to access it.

I tried every fix on the internet to include deleting the webcam and headset drivers, reinstalling them, updating the mobo BIOS, deleting the USB 3.0 drivers and resinstalling them, uninstalling every driver under USB devices in the device manager and letting Windows reinstall them, cleaning the registry, restarting the computers multiple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the software/drivers that came with the webcam and headset, clearing the CMOS, restarting multiple times and unplugging/plugging in the devices multiple times, and updating the chipset driver.

Device manager shows the devices so I know it's recognizing them, but it just cant recognize/use the drivers to make the things work. I've tried every USB port on the computer and pretty much everything except a fresh install of Windows which I dont want to do. I feel like this is a mobo issue because of the way the computer shut itself down from sleep and b/c all three things stopped working at the same time.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I did everything on that site except buy a powered USB hub. I dont think this is a problem with the drivers as it happened to all three of my USB devices at the same time. And the external HDD doesnt even need a driver of course. But for some reason that drive became RAW and now 'needs' to be formatted even though theres data on it.

Just to save a bunch of time trying this and that, formatting your drive and reinstalling windows would probably solve your problem.

Disconnect all your usb devices except your mouse and keyboard.

Reinstalling Windows is the next step Im thinking but since my external HDD got bricked by the computer I dont have anything to backup my stuff to. Even if the HDD was working I dont know if it would work on this computer since the USB ports are nonfunctional anyway. Today I might go buy a new webcam and see if I can get it to install/work. I also may buy a new external HDD. Is there anything in the mobo or windows that could have made my specific headset and webcam stop working, and only that webcam and headset. The weird thing is they work on my other computer, so I dont think its the devices.

Hmmm, if your usb ports aren't working, that's not a good thing.

You've tried pretty much tried everything except reinstalling windows and updating the bios.

I'm wondering if a bios update or reflash might bring back your usb ports.

I did update the BIOS as it reads in my original post. I also did a System Restore which I failed to mention in my original post. Today I went and bought a new webcam and it too cannot install the drivers properly when I first connected it. I get the same "This device cannot start" error message in the Device Manager. Whats weird is when I look at the webcam settings in Skype it does actually provide a picture- however it moves at like only 5 frames per second. So the webcam is sending information to the computer but its like it's using some basic imaging device driver that doesnt allow the webcam to work properly. The real driver was unable to install just like my old webcam and headset. Im worried that reinstalling windows wont even fix this problem since it seems so much like a mobo issue.

It's possible you could have a faulty motherboard. It's also possible you have a corrupted bios or windows, at this point I'm just not sure which. Since you lost some usb ports, try reflashing the bios. If this doesn't bring your usb ports back, then you may have a faulty motherboard.
