Gene V - CPU Fan Speed - Can't adjust my Noctuas

in FAN Expert 2 they are greyed out

in bios its set to standard fan profile ...

they are always fixed to full speed - I know they are 3 pin non-PWM - but the Gene should still be able to adjust them like all my other non-PWM chassis fans ?

ok I'm officially confused .... the motherboard DOES seem to be affecting the fan speed - no wonder my temps were so high ....

top - is smart mode, bottom rpm fix. Note reported rpm (orange dot ?) seems lower than the requested speed ? Then when you change to Fixed RPM mode - you suddenly hear the cpu fans spin up notably .... and cpu temps drop a lot too ....

2nd note - in both smart mode and fixed rpm mode - the reported fan speed (not shown in screenshots) is the same ... 1100rpm - but you can quite clearly hear the cpu fans spin up when yo move from smart mode to fixed rpm. Any ideas whats going on please ?

Update to latest AI suite Fan Xpert also. I am not sure 3 pin fans can be controlled properly on the CPU headers, in which case use the chassis fan headers, they are tied to the same temp probe used for CPU fan control.

My noctuas are the same, run fan expert and they are grayed out and it says they are non adjustable.

mines a similar problem, 4 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm fans, all the same, but run at different speeds depending on fan header used.
in Xpert fan 2 latest version;

CPU_FAN allows min 13%
CHA_FAN1 min 70%
CHA_FAN2 min 90%
CHA_FAN3 min 46%

if i change fans round to different headers... same result.... so its the Fan headers that are doing something crazy........
