Gene + Crucial MX300 525GB M.2

Having trouble getting a Crucial MX300 525GB M.2 to work on my Gene z97, As far as I know I've done everything...

-Updated to Lastest BIOs
-Change Mode of Black PCIE Slot to M2 Slot - tried on auto as well and a few others. (http://puu.sh/udwup/a43c3fc3d4.JPG)
-Only one thing is using PCI slot and that's my Graphics Card GTX 770 (https://puu.sh/udqbu/11bde8aefa.png)

But the drive still isn't being picked up in the BIO's, Windows Installation nor Disk Management within windows..

Anyone have any idea or suggestions? I hope so..

Thanks in advance...

hi Smireh

Can you update the MX300 F/w or make sure enable UEFI
suggest reflash back / change the other M.2 for testing

tweaked a lot to try get this to work nothing working... even purchased another new m.2 to see if that would work and guess what nope...
even done a few bios resets back to default (what I usually run on)

so the Crucial MX300 525GB M.2 isn't working,
nor is a Samsung 500GB 850 EVO M.2

Does it even work with SATA M.2 drives? or do they need to be PCIe?

the Crucial couldn't update the firmware because it couldn't detect any drives... and there are no drivers for the Samsung, it doesn't show up in Samsung Magician.

its defiantly something to with the motherboard or some settings I'm missing.. becoming a right headache now.

Unfortunately, the Maximus VII Gene only supports PCIE M.2 SSDs. The M.2 SSDs you own are SATA so they will not work on your motherboard.

so would the Samsung PM961 Polaris 512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 (x4) NVMe High-Performance SSD - definitely work?
