Running the i7-3820 and was trying out the "Gamers OC(4.7Mhz)" preset profile on my IVFormula.
Now my rig should be more than capable to handle the OC but for some reason it only gets 4.3Mhz?
Sure Im missing something?
Would be a great help if someone could help me out with this.

Do you mean 4.3ghz???? I am shooting blind here but could this be because the multiplier on that CPU is locked upwards??? What BLK and multiplier is the gamer profile attempting to set?

I had tried 3820 when my 3960x was RMA to intel.....

For 3820, the multiplier was locked and the maxium is 43. you need adjust BCLK and Strap to acheive higher OC.

This is what I was sure of mate but was not sure what the locked multi was. 43 is ok though easily enough for a very good clock on teh 1.25 strap.

To increase your oveclock significantly change your BCLK to the 125 strap. You might want to adjust your multiplier by lowering it first. 125 x 43 = 5.3
