Hi,
I'm facing severe issues with the latest Realtek Audio driver that's on the Win11 tab page for my motherboard's support page:
The problem was: My headset's mic is very quiet and picks no sound at all unless putting it in your mouth with literal meaning and literally gotta put it 0mm close to my mouth.
And yes, every setting, driver and my bios was proper and latest, mic boost didn't seem to work with this latest audio driver as it had no effect!!! Not even to a small degree!!! However the preceding audio driver performs much better and picks up sound from my mic very well. I had even bluetooth problems with the latest audio driver and with the preceding I didn't.
not to mention with the latest audio driver my buds gave my blurry sounds as i was in the ocean listening to sounds and the preceding audio driver has no such issue with it
Please read the following:
======
What I've done to troubleshoot and find the cause
I have formatted my PC several times, to Win10 and Win11
On both I have installed the latest drivers respectively. On Windows 10 the Realtek audio driver performed well and I could hear myself through my mic, and yes this time also from a decent distance even without any mic boost. And the mic boost actually works. I've done the same procedure for Windows 11 as well with the respective win11 drivers for my mobo, and it performed f*ng bad. I was unable to hear my self unless I literally put the mic in my mouth. Mic boost was also not working.
To be exact, I am talking about those drivers:
- Audio driver: Version 6.3.9600.2333 (win10 driver and also compatible with win11 which performs better than your latest driver)
- Audio driver: Version 6.3.9600.2389 (win11 latest driver, very bad and also caused some issues on my pc with bluetooth buds - sound was like as if i was in the ocean, like blurry and all however with the other driver it wasn't like that)
I hope you fix that for the sake of others. Because more people are experiencing this. Asus should stop ignoring those facts. And I actually would like to see Asus taking it seriously and fix their latest Audio driver for this mobo.
Because again it's pretty bad and something frustrating.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi,
I already warned on my thread several months ago about this latest audio drivers package v6.3.9600.2389 offered by Armoury Crate or offered in the support page for/of some ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard (https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/downloads-for-motherboards/drivers-realtek-usb-audio-amd-5xx-6xx-8xx-a...) :

Let me explain (and at the same time alert All other users of ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards) : The latest audio drivers package v6.3.9600.2389 offered by Armoury Crate or offered in the support page for/of some ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards is a total mess from ASUS staff and I advise you not to install it :
They mixed Realtek USB Audio Drivers v6.3.9600.2389 that does not support SS3 (Realtek USB Audio Drivers between v6.3.9600.2356 and v6.3.9600.2390 does not support SS3 because Realtek Extension Driver for SS3 (ExtRtXUsb_Asus_AVO_RTK.inf) does not exist between these versions), with the Realtek Extension Driver for SS (ExtRtXUsb_Asus_BJ_RTK.inf), and the Third Party Drivers for SS3 (of which SS3 APO). Issues begetting another, I'm not even talking about the fact that Armoury Crate can makes you download the Third Party Drivers for SS (of which Bongiovi APO) which will make messed up your audio drivers installation even more (https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/downloads-for-motherboards/drivers-realtek-usb-audio-amd-5xx-6xx-8xx-a...) :
@MoKiChU wrote:... the SS drivers by Bongiovi interferes with all the audio components of your system and because the SS drivers by Bongiovi are not made to work without SS user interface from/in Armoury Crate without generating side effects, like for example sound as if you were underwater).
Anyway, you should report your issues to ASUS Support, they are the ones responsible for messed up your audio drivers installation, not me.
...
Follow these steps to fix your issues :
1) Delete the SS Drivers by Bongiovi (if they were installed by Armoury Crate):
- Launch Driver Store Explorer as admin > Check the boxes of all versions of these drivers .inf (if you find them) : bongioviapomb.inf | bongioviapo.inf
- Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver(s)" button
- Restart your PC
2) Cleanup then reinstall your Realtek USB Audio Drivers :
You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :
You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx).
Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.
