I have purchased a new hhd. Could not get a ssd at this time. My system is in raid 0 and I'm going to just a single hhd. What do I actually need for drivers. From the install disk on a crosshair V.

Nothing at all. Just connect your new drive (with no power lead attached) to your system, plug the power back into the case and fire it up. If by some chance the system doesn't boot up, remove the side panel again and hit the "go" button. You will find it at the bottom of your CHVF board, it's a small black circle button. Press it and watch your system come to life. Then all you have to do is log in to Windows and check to make sure you can see the drive in My Computer. If you cannot post here and I will give you a small set on instructions on what to do next.

Good luck 🙂

So you are doing a fresh install of Windows and want to know what is necessary for basic functionality to get online and get more recent drivers? Or you are trying to avoid anything unnecessary to keep it lean, or what?

Keeping it lean. It's a gaming system. That's it. I don't need the audio drivers because I use a logitec wireless head set but I do us the usb 3.0 to charge my phone and what not while the.system is off.

I wouldn't install the drivers from the disc at all. I never do unless I need a network driver to get online. Get the latest chipset and network drivers online.
