[Formula-Z] FX-9370 higher idle temp now than ever!!

Nepty

Hi.
Im using a FX-9370 clocked on a Formula-Z at 4.8 GHz, been since i bought it 5 months ago.

My idle temp was pretty low!!!!!!!!
34812

Now it has increased rapidly and now im running H80i on 100% fan speed just to keep it not from going over 60 degrees when doing some CPU load.
34813

I have tried to use auto voltage (1.5) on CPU, but seems like its getting to hot.
Now i have manually configured DIGI+ in BIOS and no change (atleast no higher temp than usual).
I have removed a little dust, taken the H80i apart and checked thermal paste and everything, and now im stuck.
Can you guys help me??

Well this problem could be caused by the following issues:

1) something is not tweaked correctly in the BIOS...too much voltage
2) the heat sink is not properly installed on the CPU
3) there is not a good thermal bound between the CPU and the heat-sink
4) there is a problem with the pump on the unit
5) the CPU is shot?

I would switch back to a stock air cooler just to verify that the CPU is ok.

Keep us posted on what you find out.

I really dont want to switch to stock cooler atm...
I have removed the thermal compound, reapplied new one and make sure that the heat sink on the H80i is correctly placed.
I also updated the BIOS to the latest... but for some reason these things arent working....

What shall i do, do i RMA the cooler or the CPU?

it may be the pump that went kaput, try to hear if the H80 pump is making any noise

I only hear the 2 fans, never heard any pump running.
I got a FX-8120 that i can swap later to see if the cooling actually cools the CPU.
Im too scared to switch to a stock cooler now when the temp is so high with the H80i.
But as of now the Idle temp of 9370 is 49 degrees on 100% fan speed.

Do you by chance have one of those IR Thermo "guns"? Or a DVM with a temperature probe? If you do I would point that at the radiator (you may b e able to check this with a finger) and check the temp...I think if you did you would find that it is cool which would indicate a problem with fluid flow.

With that said I am going to try and tread softly here but this is about the third post in this forum over the past few weeks where someone though the problem was the CPU only to have it be the water cooling system...and all three of them have been Corsair. I would really think about putting the stock cooler on first before putting another CPU in there...you can always monitor the CPU temp via the BIOS so you don't have to worry about your system overheating.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Im not so sure what the problem is, changed the 9370 to 8120 and the temp seems to be ¨normal¨

By looking at these screens im not so sure if its the H80i or the 9370 that is the problem, H80i cools pretty good.
