formula VII z97 Lights/power issue

when i turn off computer the ROG logo and the Graphics card and CPU block are still lit up with lights. The only way that i'm able to shut them off is by power down the psu. is this a defect of the motherboard or its a setting that has to be turned off. Also not sure if the will degrade my components in my pc.....

Mine has the leds and logo on as well, it is normal unless you actually remove the power to the system, i.e. turn off at psu input, remove plug from psu, remove plug from wall, turn off at wall or don't pay your electric bill for instance 😉

There is a ROG Effects menu under Advanced in the UEFI, where I believe you can turn them off for normal shutdown.
