Format drive C for MotherBoard Upgrade?

I have a defective Hero VI going to RMA it due to bad DIMMS. However I am going to use the Asus z97 Delux NFC WLS . Should I do a clean install of WIndows or can I just patch over the drivers?

Since you are changing chipsets I would suggest a clean OS install. Look your old OS will work but since you are going the new mobo I would want the best performance and do the OS.

well I took the cpu out and installed the z97 Deluxe. The 87 H had 3 pins missing, so much for being a noob and not noticing it at first.

The Deluxe does not have any missing pins, but I am still getting code 55!!! is it my ram, it once worked when i applied xmp profile. Let me go and see...

Might just have over tightened one corner of the CPU cooler.

i loosened the cooler, indeed it was overtightened. I also bought profile 1866 Cruicial Ballistix RAM with the super high fins in black, and set XMP profile, and BAM, dual channel! Gotta stick to the Booklet's RAM list. The wireless is stong, but the pins in the cable it comes with broke off inside the adapter, still works full speed. 🙂
