first build ROG motherboard gone Rogue "PLEASE HELP"

I built this computer on previous weekend. I did enough research for 7 months before building this machine. When I turn it on the motherboard (MAXIMUS VI HERO) displays a continuous series of q codes (random), and after some seconds it shuts down. Right before shutting down it shoes q code 00 for a very quick fraction of second and then it shuts down. ASUS reps don't know what is wrong. Please help.

the q code sequence starts from somewhere in 11, 15, 17, 3b, 3e, b6, 51, 55, 57, 71, 72, 75, 00 then shut down [(not exactly what it shows) only demonstration purpose] this happen in quick 2-3 seconds.

Moreover, I did try to boot it with only one RAM stick and motherboard, cpu, cooler, ssd only but still the the issue persists. I tried to drain power (disconnected 24 pin and 8 pin), removed CMOS, still no resolution.

here is the list of components:

ASUS Maximus VI Hero
Intel i5 4670K
Corsair Vengeance 12 GB 1600 (4 X 3) (Compatible on the list of ASUS)
Corsair H100i
Kingston V300 128 GB
Seagate Baraccuda1 TB
Corsair CX750
ASUS Optical Drive
NZXT Sentry 3 fan Controller.
NZXT Switch 810 Case

Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

Hello mykale welcome to the ROG forum. It's normal for your motherboard to cycle through codes before it boots. Code 00 is either cpu or motherboard and should remain lit. Since it is shutting off it sounds like it could be a psu issue. If clearing the cmos didn't help, you could try testing with another psu if you have one. Are you using a dedicated gpu?

I will be using dedicated GPU once everything starts running fine.

However I have run the test without the dedicated GPU, and the issue is still there. I will certainly check the PSU problems and hope that it gets me to more definitive answer of what is causing the problem.

Assuming your PSU is ok.

What happens if you set up your machine with:

1. the monitor connected to the onboard video,
2. SSD connected to Intel Sata Port 1 (i.e. ONLY the SSD. No other drives at this point IF you are planning on installing your OS to the SSD),
3. Optical drive connected to Intel Sata Port 3 with Bootable Operating System disk in the drive,
4. Two memory modules installed as per manual,
5. CPU installed correctly with the included intel heatsink and fan (or whatever cooling solution you have)
6. All power connectors for motherboard, cpu, drives, fans, etc properly connected.

I.e. no keyboard, no mouse, no network cable, etc.

Doing this should make it work and see a message about "keyboard not detected".

Then connected your USB keyboard - making sure to connect it to the USB 2.0 port! (very important this)!!!!

Press F1 and enter the BIOS. Once here - do not overclock. Just make sure the settings are correct and your devices are being properly detected.

Once you are happy - Save and Exit so it reboots and, since you would still have a bootable OS disk in the optical drive, it should boot up the OS disk and allow you to proceed with installing the OS to your (I'm assuming) SSD.

Does this help?
