Faster Memory for my CPU, can it work?

Hi,
Currently I have the Intel I7-3770K running with Patriot Memory (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600MHZ (PC12800). My system is overclocked to 4.3 GHz.

If I need to replace the memory, do I need to get the same type of memory DDR3 1600MHZ (PC12800) because of my CPU? Or can I get faster memory like DDR3 2400 or DDR3 2600 kits. I don’t remember if memory needs to be properly matched with the CPU, in this case with my Intel I7-3770K.

Any DDR3 'Non-ECC, Un-buffered, Dual Channel Memory' will work.1600 is what your is rated at but "might" go up to 2800 if the stars are aligned just right. Look HERE. You could buy 2400/2600/2800 and they will work at 1600 and probably go higher.

Well seems like I'll looking for big headache just to get the memory to work correctly, maybe too much of hassel... Might be wise just to stick with 1600Mhz speed.
