if you are using PWM fans, take the PWM and RPM signal from the header, and the power from the PSU.. In that way you can run more fans with PWN control

there are terminals, and cable splitter on the market for this

running them on 3 diff headers atm cpu ,opt1 and chass 3 in dc mode there only 3 pin .. I'm just going to have to save more cash and get another fan controller .. had to split these off after replacing my fans the other day .. fan controller could not take 2x140 2 pumps and 10x120 fans .. so was going to run the 2 triple rad fans off the board and leave the quad on the controller ..
ok thx for your help ..

Food for thought....the fan controller IC may not be the limiting factor here...

It appears that much to my surprise that the maximum current that you can run from a 22 AWG wire is .92 amps and I'm pretty sure that the wire used for fans is closer to 24 to 26 AWG which is .577 amps and .361 amps.

See link for more info:

Add the traces on the motherboard have a lot less copper than a 26 AWG wire so tread carefully here 🙂

and different fans have different startup voltages, some fans draw more juice than others if ramped up very fast 0-100%, thats why its wise to keep the 1 amp rule i think..

NERD, Yes, seemingly thin wires can handle quite amount of power.
