Hello, I would like to understand how is it possible that my Maximus VII Hero just turned 2 times test before starting. Thanks!

I had a no boot, no POST issue yesterday. I read somewhere to reseat the CMOS battery, which fixed the problem. it seemed to have fixed the double boot issue though I have not tried to turn my PC back on again (I unplug my PC from the power outlet everytime I turn it off).

update: just tried it now and it didn't dual boot. not sure if that's a good thing, having read the comments above...

Reseat means take it out / wait some secs / enter the same again

Or

Replace old with a new one?

Make sure that fastboot is disabled and try it again.

So after several boots without double post or restart while loading/starting win7

I flashed back to 2012

But same issues ... Sorry i have no glue what can help me to proper booting
If i could reprodice the boot behaviour, then i could maybe find the issue

Is there reall anyone who is booting from cold to win without double post or waiting 5mins to come to post screen or to window starting helper (whatever this comes for - clicking repair leads to boot again)

I am lost ...

I had a similar issue when I first moved to the z97 chipset. When I installed win 8l1 on uefi it stopped but as long as I was on win 7 I had issues with booting into windows where it would just loop on me up to 16 times before windows would complete loading.

thx for your answer. this is comparable to my boot behaviour.
but i am not wolling to upgrade win to boot properly.

it must be related to bios / hardware issues that is cannot boot in a normal way

can anyone maybe record a double boot video,
i think i have deeper problems which it is rather boot stuck or loop instead of double boot.

When I was on win 7 ult x64 it would loop up to 16 times in a row before loading windows. I called it a post loop because the windows loading icon would appear and then it would repost. I tried moving win 7 to uefi and it still did the same thing. It wasn't until I moved to win 8.1 pro x64 that it stopped. You can try repairing the mbr and deleting and creating a new partition and reinstalling windows and it will not stop. I went through all of that and it wasn't until I decided to upgrade to win 8 that it went away.

Hi, this is exactly my boot loop ... Mixed up with a2 boot stuck ...

I cannot believe that this is because of win 7x64 @uefi ....

I am not willing to upgrade to win8 ... Waste of money.

I am flipping around here ... Thx for the video

I still don't know why it happened just that I couldn't make win 7 stop doing it even after deleting the partition and recreating a new one after reformatting the drive. There's nothing wrong with the mbr as it would eventually boot. Going to win 8.1 pro x64 stopped it the first time I installed it.
