Other than what was already mentioned like removing memory & such? I would make sure you have the latest BIOS if you don't already and you could always change the sleep state so it's not using S3. Yeah, it won't save as much power but at least it would be recoverable.

Another possibility might be an attached device that doesn't know how to sleep nicely. If you remove all attached devices except the keyboard (and try another if you have it) then try sleeping, you could see if the result is different.

Other than that nothing comes to mind. Perhaps someone has encountered the problem but it might take a while to get a response. I wish you luck!

1303 bios should fix S3 problem.
