Dynamic CPU help

Ozy311

Hi Guys,

Rig is running great on the RIVE. I have my i7 4930 running at 4.6ghz with 1.375v for a week now. The issue is that it runs at 4.6ghz all the time even at idle. I set the "Sync All Cores" to 46. I'd like to let the CPU step down the speed when there is no CPU load. How can I have my cake and eat it too? My idle wattage is 195W with this setting and 3 GTX 780 cards.

Thx

Set the Windows power plan to Balanced.

Or if you want to keep the performance plan go into advanced options and select "processor power management" and set "minimum processor state" to 10%.

This is assuming you are ocing with offset and not manual voltage and that you have speedstep enabled.

Thank you ! Thank you...

You are fantastic, I was also having this problem for ages.
Turns out it was my Samsung SSD high performance profile on Windows power plan.
CPU performance was all set to 100% on idle.

Have a great day.

Indeed the Samsung Magician software makes changes to the power plan.
