Does TrackIR 5 have a stutter issue with the USB ports on RIVE?

I just bought a TrackIR 5 and it seems to stutter slightly while visually panning . I can't figure it out. Anyone have experience with this device using a RIVE on Windows 7? People say it's smooth as silk, but I'm not seeing it yet. It's smooth briefly, but then it just takes a crap and stutters randomly.

I have some experience with TIR4 (TIR5 sofware). I´d like to know which game you´re having your issues in, does it happen in other games?
What are the settings in game, high AA?

Using TrackClip Pro or the simpler clip-on-a-cap?

Most likely cause of stutters: Light pollution, can cause all sorts of flickers n stutters. Make sure no sun-light shines directly into the room. If you´re wearing a cap, make sure no UV-reflective elements are on it, it´ll screw with TIR as well. Even if you´re gaming in darkness, the light from your monitor may reflect off something on your person and give false readings on the TIR.

I'm using TrackIR 5 with the Pro clip. I tried the final software and latest beta release. I'm playing DCS World games (BS2, A10C, FC3), but this isn't a game related issue because I can still see the same smoothness THEN a random stutter in the TrackIR config software. I can see the potential using this this device, but I need to get rid of that weird stutter using it.

My guess is Windows drivers, Asus RIVE drivers, TrackIR drivers, or RIVE USB power or timing issue. I'm going to contact NatualPoint Monday, but I thought I would check with you guys who have RIVE experience and TrackIR. Maybe a BIOS or Windows 7 timing issue?

I've tried all of the ports available in the I/O shield location, except ROG. I generally disable anything ASMEDIA related, but I did enable it in the bios and tried, but it was same thing. I do not have any USB 3.0 devices so I just usually keep it off.

I'm still using 1404 as it has been completely stable whereas the later capped bios weren't. I'm using Win7 64bit and have no plans to go to Win8 ever. You mention updating to bios 3101, so then is it safe using it for Win7 and has it fixed an issue with USB since 1404? I'm in the middle of backing up my hard drives now and plan on re-doing the system throughout the night to eliminate any potential problems with the installation.

Could it be a usb-power issue? Both your pro clip and sensor is powered through usb, make sure there isn´t some CO2-neutral setting in power management.

And try to ctrl-alt-delete, go to process, right click and choose priority high.

And you have checked for light pollution on that window in TIR-software where it shows you what IT sees? Now, I´ve never used the pro-clip, so I don´t know how that affects sensitivity.

Does it occur if you hold your head completely still?

Does it jump? I have issues with trackir but its only when its sunny outside. It could be too bright an environment? Look in the trackir software for red areas in the top right box?
