Hi guys,
I have the rampage IV formula now running BIOS 2105 and have a mushkin chronos 60GB and a OCZ agility 3 60GB both sata3 claiming write speeds of approx 500mbs setup today in raid 0 and this is my benchmark score.

11594

I feel this is rather low and don't think this is right.
Any advice or ideas?

I think you're supposed to use 2 of the same drive for it to work. Plus, you need to use the latest modified BIOS that has been posted on here that comes with the latest RAID OROM......though, and I am unsure about this part...Intel's RST still doesn't support RAID on x79 boards.

like "MJK" description ....if you can using the same model SSD...
Did you have plan to upgrade the SSD hard device F/W?....maybe you can try it...

You really should use the same make, model and firmware for SSD Raid, remember that if they read differently then one drive is waiting on the other drive and in the end slows down the process. My 2x Crucial M4's come tomorrow ill test and let you know my experience.

something is wrong, because you should be getting close to double a single (under as-ssd /incompressible data test results for sandforce). looks like a single async sandforce score, with the reads way off...don't need identical drives...

You do not need identical drives....(maybe, just maybe, it would be better to have same controller but wont matter this much) if you are not getting what you expect this could be because your drives are full, your driver is the wrong one or you have the drives plugged in ports that are limited in speed or your SATA cables are low quality.....Are your SSD firmwares up to date too?

If you RAID 2 different SSDs the size of the smallest will be the limit on capacity. i.e. size of smallest drive x2. This also applies to read write speed you should look for 90% faster than slowest read write speed.

hehe, make sure both drives are on the intel sata 6gbs ports...was one drive 'used' before the raid was initiated? if so, you would need to secure erase the 'used' drive prior to creating an array with an unused/'fresh' ssd. if both used previously, looks close to normal. secure erase both ssds, re create the array under the intel orom, and install/re image. use the latest rst 'e' app/driver, activate write back cache under rst, uninstall rst app, install 11.1.7 F6 driver from the 1155 socket platform, and you should see marked improvement in your storage benching results.
