disappointed with MAXIMUS VI IMPACT sound card...

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see how this can be used for 600 ohm headphones, when mine is far less than that. I have the volume on maxed out and it's still not loud enough at all. I've checked the realtek manager and see nothing to change any ohm settings or anything.

I have the xonar dg and was expecting similar performance. That thing gets loud and I only paid around $20 for it. I really wanted an all in one solution here.

Herstal is right. Options in the Amplify Level doesn't do anything.

Asus please look at the typo "Performace" tab under the Amplify Level, missing "n".

Thank you

Any news regarding this matter/issue. This is an international forum right? Btw I'm from Denmark.

I'm having the same problem, using the Maximus VI Formula. Hope there'll be a better driver soon.

Guys, I know this needs sorting as quickly as possible, but buy yourselves a new/second hand amplifier and enjoy far better audio, as loud as you like!

Your cans will thank you, especially the decent ones

No! The soundcard on the Impact has been made for high end headphones in mind with the audiophile grade Op-Amp from TI. But the drivers as for the moment suckz, and doesn't utilize this Op-Amp to the fullest. The issue has been known right from the beginning when Impact hit the stores, but it seems it's on Asus' /Realteks LOW priority list.

I start feeling a bit let down here, and that is the first time with my over 20 years using Asus products. 😞

Wuhuu!

Did a quick google search, and found these drivers over at stationdrivers!

THEY WORK!!! Now we kan change the amp level.

Tested it, and it sounds perfect now!

Thanks.

FINALLY!!

Dude are you sure even it doesn't state ALC1150 in the information package?

Thanks for the information you found. I tried this 7111 driver (on ASUS site is 7023). The amplifier through front panel works (still not through rear), but the whole sound with this driver (no matter what output) is totally messed up, like if you turn on Normalize function in audio/video player/tv... 😞

Finguz:

I know that your advice is a way how to get good sound without waiting, but I think you're missing the point that ASUS advertises and sells something which is not true, so they deceive their customers. For example I've been their loyal customer since about 1998, but this pissed me of greatly. They lost their customer...

Thanks for the link Exalix! These drivers work, i can change amplifier presets now.

.PiT. - to enable rear output amplifier, change front panel type to AC97. Didn't have any strange sounds as the ones you reported, perhaps do a clean install?

Unfortunately, sound quality does not seem all that great even with the new drivers, bass is quite flat. I've ordered a NGFF-PCIE bridge to connect my old Xonar Xense, will check if it's really better or is it just me remembering it through rose tinted glasses :).
