😞
hello guys, I have a trouble and found other guys having strictly the same on the web...

my config :

rampage 4 formula (BF3)
intel i7 3820
4x4 DDR3 (1600) Gskill ripjaws Z
gtx680
HD WD velociraptor 600gb

while booting, debug code remain on AF (within 4 or 5 seconds : I have 14 then 60 then 61 then AF)

I also have red led lightning for Dram trouble

As other guys on the web, it's also impossible to flash bios using rog connect button.
I use USB fat 32 formatted with latest bios taken this morning on asus website (support), and renamed R4F.ROM
but as I push many seconds the ROG button, nothing happens, the rog button remain in green but does not blink...

It seems that Dram has not any trouble. I dont understand and dont know what to do !!! HELP !!! thanks

(I am french, sorry if I made some mistakes^^)

hi mate

i had same trouble. but i did the bios flash without problem

are you sure that you put the USB in the correct port (i think it was white port)??
I7 3820@4.5(1.29v)// RampageIV Formula // NH-D14 Se2011 + akasa apache (12+14cm)
Palit GTX580 815c// RV-02 // 8gb GEIL evo Corsa-2240-12-12-12-36(1.52v)
WD 500 Black // Seagate Eco 1GB // Crucial M4 128gb // LEPA G900W

Of course, I put it in the white USB port, the usb flash drive is FAT 32 formated, the last bios version was renamed R4F.ROM, as required. I did exactly as on the ASUS video...(that is quite easy...)

BUT, when I press the ROG connect button, many seconds, nothing happens. No blinking !

do you have another usb flash drive to try?

thanks,

I already had tried to switch to bios 2. but if I push the switch button, nothig happens. It remains on bios1...I am unable to switch to bios 2

I have tried other DDR3 , but no difference with the Gksill. So I think my Dram is in perfect shape.

I will try another flash drive on tomorrow. But I tried this one on another computer, with no problem.

i did a bios change with the direct button without issues.

maybe your MB is DOA.....

did you a clearCMos??

The Rog button shouldnt blink, only the light inside the mother board. If you hold down the ROG button for a few seconds, you will see an amber light begin to blink on the board itself at the bottom right by both of the BIOS chips. After it stops blinking, the flashing is complete.

I have the same exact build as you, i had to do this to get mine working. I even had the same debug codes and everything.
i7-3820 @ 5.0Ghz - RIVF - 32GB Kingston @1866 - Gigabyte Radeon 7970 x2 - Cosair Force GT 240GB x2 (RAID 0) - WD 2TB 7200 (RAID 1)

Ok guys, I disassemblied evertything, assemblied again, tried to boot with 1 then 2 DRAM, after several trials, it started to boot, we had the bios, but it crashed few seconds (may be several minutes...) after.

desperated, we tried a last time to use the white USB port and the RoG connect button to update the bios. THEN, this time, (why this time ??? as I had tried it 12 or 15 times before...), it started to blink (And the rog button is also blinking himself) and made the bios update. (note that the usb flash was still the same ^^)

And indeed, It seems to work, as I succesfully boot...(I did it 5 or 6 times without any crash).

It seems to be the only solution to this trouble.

Happy ends...

Glad to hear this

i hope you can install your programs and enjoy your build 😉
