Curious result on boot speed-up of Win7 Pro 64 between two PCs.

Hi people,

There is a strange inconsistency between the loading speed of my PC Win 7 Pro 64, and an other PC, between the lights of the Microsoft logo, to the desktop ready for use.
My PC takes 18 seconds and is structured as follows:
Rampage bios 4E 4206 Nodens
i7-3930K @ 4600 Mhz
16G Ram @ 2200 Mhz four ch.
C: drive Raid0 of two Vertex 4, connected in Intel SATA3 port, rst 12.9
Average transfer rate Attobench about 780-800 MB / sec
LINX indicate 156 Gflops
Win 7 pro 64 with 2 startup programs, and 48 active processes.
Transfer rate of simple file around 10 GB , like a lightning!

The other PC takes 11 seconds and is structured as follows:
Rampage 2E, last bios Asus
i7 920 @ 3800 Mhz
6 G Ram @ 1600 Mhz tree ch
C: \ drive with 1 Vertex 4, connected in port sata2 Intel.
Average transfer rate Attobench about 220-240 MB / sec
Win 7 Pro 64 with 3 startup programs, and 56 active processes.
Transfer rate of simple file around 10 GB, fast... but not excellent!
LINX indicate 48 Gflops

Where can be the reason for the slowness of Windows load on my PC?
Thanks to all.

I was just wondering if it was some driver loading problem and often Internet connection is slowed and appears late in situations like that...though not always of course.

Update your SSD firmwares too if available.

Will be waiting for test results with interest!

Hello Arne,
I did the test S.O. fresh installation on a single SSD Vertex4:
is 3 seconds faster than my Raid0 to load win7 pro 64, but the new windows lacks some startup programs such as Comodo IS and some others.
Maybe when complete will have the same speed, but the mystery is why always with the Raido is not faster. The SSD firmware is up to date.
What do you think?

Wow really that is not much different...I thought you were going to cut the time in half...go figure...

I have no real idea why the RAID 0 is not faster on this but I guess the speed of RAID 0 is more for sustained transfer etc. than the type of work it's doing at OS start-up. It must be like a jumbo jet and a fighter plane...both take the same time to taxi to the runway but once they take off one is a lot faster...

Hello Arne,
the example of the airplanes is perfect and it seems that such a thing happens.
On the forum, however, I have often heard that raid0 with transfer rate of over 1,000 Gb \ sec and win 7 loaded in 7-8 seconds, but not all SSDs are created equal. It seems that the Vertex4 are fast on writing and less on reading, but 15 or 18 seconds seem too much anyway. On the other hand I do not deny that it is more important the files transfer speed than the loading of SysOp .
The tread was just to understand the phenomenon and if there could be technical explanations: I will try to re-create the RAID0 with 64KB buffer, maybe it will be faster with small files SysOp, then leave everything as it was before, as the setup of SSDs requires ie, no paging file, no search, no hibernation, no drive index, no SuperFetch, etc..
If, however, you suddenly have some ideas, let me know ....!
