Crosshair VIII Hero - BIOS Confusion

Hi Guys,

I recently updated my BIOS to Version 1001 to get AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABBA. Now there is a new BIOS on the ASUS Website call 0901. When I tried to flash it I saw that the build date was 28th of August or smthg like that so basically older than 1001. So my question is if the 0901 is actually older and has the ABBA Microcode in it?

Thanks,
Chris

I've noticed this too, was about to post a question about it when I saw your post, I'm guessing its a mistake on asus part? but I would like to know! I'm staying on 1001 for the moment

It's definitely an older BIOS and I see no reason to install it over the 1001 BIOS. 1001 has been extremely stable for me, includes the ABBA Agesa update and gives my 3900X CPU the best boost performance so far.:)

yes I just saw it too.
it confused the heck out of me.
there was no explanation of which one to install, which was terribly unhelpful since 0901 had an earlier version number but a later release date 😞 😞 😞 😞 😞

Agree. The 1001 bios is still most up-to-date and stable for the 3900x.

OP this is the first time ever seen ASUS do this. post older bios with a newer date... bloody strange !

Agreed. It looks like Asus fixed the Bios listing order on their site. The BIOS 1001 is now dated 9-25-19 and 0901 is dated 9-20-19.:)

seen them do something similar on the x470-i

Dont know how it is for you, but for me OC more stable and better on 0901 then 1001. Im using 3700x and all cores 4.4 Ghz whit 1.35V on 0901 and 1.375V on 1001 also RAM 3600Mhz CL 14 whit 1.45V on 0901 and 1.475V on 1001.

It would be nice if Asus can confirm that 0901 is the BIOS to go at the moment. For now I stick with 1001
