Crosshair VI Hero motherboard does not recognize WD Black SN850X M.2 SSD

Sdgarmon
Level 7

Hello;
Crosshair VI Hero motherboard does not recognize WD Black SN850X M.2 SSD in BIOS; it can only be discovered if the system is shutdown (still plugged) and EFI boot device is unplugged; before powering on; connect SATA (with EFI partition) and power on; after that it is recognized in Windows and BIOS; It is also recognized in W11 setup and can install Windows no problems;
But after power-off(unplug) the system can't recognize the SSD during boot.

The only method to re-recognize M.2 SSD is by replug power;(see lights in Mobo) unplug EFI boot drive SATA cable; Power on; see BIOS (still not recognized); only shutdown (not unplug power); and plugging the SATA cable of EFI boot drive to a SATA port (not SATA6G_1) and power on;

If system powers off again the cycle needs to be repeated - re plug out-replugin SATA of other drive to make Windows or BIOS recognize the SSD.

MoBO battery should not be issue since my time and other configs are preserved.
