Crosshair V Formular hard drive problem

Ok, so i got my new motherboard some few weeks ago, i installed it, no problems.
Then i booted my computer and it seems that the motherboard does a weird loop at the first second of the boot process, (it starts and turns on - within the first second i press the start button) I just want to know if that's normal

HERE COMES MY PROBLEM

Under Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installation i get to the part where i have to format and install windows, but when i try to format, nothing happens, and it seems that the whole thing just goes dead. If i wait long enough i get the error code 0x80070057 (WINDOWS CANNOT FORMAT THIS DISK) And then it disappears from the disk option menu. which results in my computer is useless. I changed it out with my old board (Crosshair IV Formular) and there was no problems, i have tried with 3 different drives All WD Caviar Black (500GB, 750GB, 1TB) but all does the same. Exept my Hitachi deskstar 3gbps hard drive works. Is it because the board doesn't support WD Hard Drives, or 6gbps ? I am so confused. The board have been sent to RMA and they found no errors and sent it back.. -.-

You did not state how much memory.

Two things that can cause formatting/drive recognition errors during the Windows install.

1) If the HDD has meta data from a previous RAID array. Only way to get rid of this is a low level format of the HDD.

2) If the system memory is unstable. This manifests during the install in a variety of ways, what you have cited above can sometimes be one of them.

In order to alleviate number 2, do the following:

1) Set CPU/NB Voltage to 1.20V

2) Set DRAM Voltage manually to the specified voltage of your DIMMs.

3) Set Command Rate to 2T

4) Set DRAM Read to Read Timing to 5.

That should cure any memory issues.

What happens if you take a drive with Windows already installed and hook it up to this board, does it boot? Even if it isn't the cleanest option you can always install new drivers and reactivate Windows by phone with a board swap. I've had to do this for systems that couldn't recognize drives during installation but did fine after Windows was installed and the drivers configured.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

That doesn't work either, it wont boot at all. i have now tried putting a jumper in the hard drive which limits it to 3/gbps and it works fine, but it's too slow. I want to make it work with 6/gbps. The reason why i am answering now this late, it that i kind of gave up, now i have RMA'd my board and i got a new one, but still same problem. You guys gotta help me

Hey guys, so a little update on how it is rollin'.

I have RMA'd my board and now i got a new one, i have updated to the latest BIOS, now i have tried with my hard drives. And guess what? It still
doesn't work -.- I am starting to think that it has something to do with Western Digital, not the drives, they are fine. I have tried buying a whole new hard drive from Western Digital, but with no luck what so ever. Still the same problem. I have mounted a jumper on the hard drive which limits it to 3/gbps and that works. Well i want it to work with 6/gbps. I think Western Digital might have something special in their drives which makes them unable to work with the Crosshair V Formular? Maybe it would be a solution to switch it with an seagate 6/gbps hard drive? i just think it's a lot of money on the line. Because i'm not sure it will work.

PS. IT IS THE WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR BLACK 6/GBPS
