CPU: AMD FX-9590
RAM: GSkill Tridentx DDR3 2400 8GX2
POWER SUPPLY : PSU RADIMAX 1000w

I put together this system about a month and a half ago and when ever the computer is turn off the usb ports will still have power going to it along with the lights on the motherboard. This wouldn't really be that bad if my keyboard and mouse didn't light up but they do. I've contacted ASUS and they ran me threw there trouble shooting and the changing the fast charge setting in the bios but the problem wouldn't go away so they had me send it in. I sent it in and I just got it back today with a note saying no problem was found. So I go and hook it back up and find that it is still leaving the usb turn on when the computer is off.

I've tried taking off the 8 and 4 pin power supply from the mother board and see if that did anything(which it didn't) and even try to use a different power supply and plug in just the 24 pin plug with nothing else on the mother board and it would still leave the usb ports with power and the red led light on the motherboard will also just have power going to it.

So has anyone has this problem, knows how to fix it, or have an idea of what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks.

question, do you have a powered external usb hub or something of the like attached to your computer? that's what does it for me....

also, check to see if usb charging support is enabled in BIOS.

report back with results.

No I don't have usb charging support enabled I've even turn it on then back off to see if it would reset but it didn't. Also I don't have a powered external usb hub. So does this only do it to you when you have the powered external usb plugged in or does it do regardless?

This is normal. The USB ports have 5v when the system is off. To power down the USB you need to switch the PSU off or unplug it.

Don't use the USB 3.0 ports for your keyboard and mouse. Use the USB 2.0 ports for these.

I have this board in transit for me, for now i use a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P and i can tell you that the same thing happens to this board also while using Windows 8 or 8.1 , it didn`t happen when i used Windows 7. It might not be a Motherboard issue but a Windows 8 issue.
