Did you do a new OS install?

Or are you using your old OS from the previous system.

What BIOS version are your running on your board and if you updated the bios how did you do so, in OS or via the USB stick and EZflash2 from the tools menu of the bios?

Please do a clear cmos and reflash to the same version of bios you are currently using. Make sure you have the SATA (OS Drive) connected to the default ports and not to the third party ports.

Hello there,

My PC started exhibiting the same behavior tonight, which was quite surprising since I have not made any changes to the system's configuration in quite a while.

Specs:

AMD FX 9590 liquid cooled at stock temp
ASUS CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z
16 GB RAM GSKILL 2400 @1600mhz
AMD 7990
AMD 7970
XFX PSU 1200W
120 GB SSD
256 GB HDD

Forgot the O/S : Windows 8 64bit

The same advice as I gave the OP download and extract the bios version of your choice to a fat formatted USB stick and re-do the bios flash using Ezflash2 in the tools menu of the bios itself. Do not use the OS to update or flash a bios.
