Hi , I very new to posting on here so I apologise if I break any protocols , I have an Asus Crosshair V Formula Z and have been considering adding an Asus thunderbolt Ex card to my setup but would like to know if anyone has experience of doing this or whether it is even possible even though the board has a Thunderblot header I can find no info anywhere on the net on anyone who has this up and working , i'm confused as to why asus included a Thunderbolt header yet the Crossfire V formula Z is not on their list of supported boards is the header just there for show ? or can I actually use it ? , any answers would be very much appreciated as I don't want to spend my folding on something that may not work .

hey I was wandering if you found out if this worked or not? thanks.

Hi , well there is very little info available but as far as I have been able ascertain Asus never released the Thunderbolt card because of a dispute with Intel over specs and licencing , in the end I went with a Plextor PCIE SSD and have been very impressed with that , sorry I can't elaborate more but it seems that Asus don't even want to discuss why they touted the board as Thunderbolt ready and then ended up offering no way of using it .
