Crosshair V Formula not POSTing

Hi there,

I have a AMD system (960T) with this board and its been inactive for about a year, it worked fine before I stopped using it, but now I cant get the thing to POST let alone boot...

I've Connected the ROG Connect to a laptop, and it's reading CMOS Error (Code 99), The Boot Device LED remains on.

I've Tried:
Clearing the CMOS
Removing the CMOS Battery
Clearing the RTC RAM
Mem OK! Button
Different PSU's
2 Different Video Cards

I've tried playing around with the RAM sticks to no avail, without stealing RAM from other systems I have no spare DDR3, and well I don't want to risk Ram from other systems just in case the board is killing the ram...

God knows which bios version this board has.....

I've also reseated the CPU and changed the thermal paste....

Any ideas anyone?

Edit: Okay I've tried a Stick of RAM from a known working computer and that hasn't helped at all...

I've read that code can be the result of a corrupt BIOS, but I'm still researching.

Hi timmy112 😄
Super IO errors can be the result of a poor connection or a peripheral device malfunction or mismatch.
Reduce your system to a minimal state, then add components to determine the culprit. It should really be done out side the case.
What Bios revision are you on? Should be 1703.
Please report back.

Hi there,

Yeah the system is already in a minimal state, the only things in are the CPU, 1 stick of Ram, and a GPU.

I have since taken the motherboard out of the case to no avail, and it's still saying CMOS Error, no not displaying anything to the monitor.

And I don't remember what bios version was on there before I had put the system into storage.

Edit:

Hmm, after trying a 3rd monitor I have finally got something on the screen. I'm wondering is this board picky about monitors? (the other 2 work perfectly on other computers) But anyways the AMI Bios screen is showing up now, so I assume this issue is fixed. Thank you everyone who replied.
