Crosshair V Formula audio disabled after sleep

Hello.

Due to my working habits I shut down my PC maybe only once or twice a week; normally I just put it to sleep.

My PC can wake up each and every time, no problem. The problem is that sometimes after waking, I don't have any audio. There's a red circle with an X on the system tray speaker icon. If I click it, Windows tells me that there's nothing plugged in. Unplugging and plugging my speakers back in does nothing and the only way to solve this is by restarting.

Has anyone out there experienced this issue before? If so, is there a "proper" way to permanently solve this?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit, always updated,) and I think I have all the latest drivers from the ASUS website, too. But please let me know if you need any further information about my PC specs.

Thanks, I hope someone can help.

Is your system OC'd at all, and that includes the memory?

Normally a wake on sleep issue is memory that is not rock solid.

No OC at all. Everything is set to Auto in the BIOS except the RAM timing which I set to the correct DDR3-1600 MHz.

Incidentally, I just ordered a couple sticks of RAM which should be arriving any day now. While this isn't a problem that I can easily reproduce, I'll run my system on just the two new sticks for a few days and see how it goes.

Thanks HiVizMan.

Your memory is OC in that case. 🙂

Try with just F5 and enter to clear and then F10 and enter.

Oh is that already considered OC? Darn. I only changed it so CPU-Z would report the correct speed. If not, it reports it as being much lower than the rated speed (Corsair Dominators)

I've set everything to default now. The CPU-Z thing shouldn't matter anyway, since I've just doubled my RAM 😉

Thanks again for clearing this up!
