Crosshair V Formula & Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Ram configuration

Hi all.
I'm writing this post because i didn't find any post wich could gave me an answer to my "problem" with this RAM, and i know that this forum can help me out 😄

First, my PC Specs:

- Motherboard Crosshair V Formula ROG
- CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1100T B.E. 3300mhz @4100mhz
- CPU Cooler Thermaltake Frío OCK
- VGA MSI NVIDIA GForce GTX560 Twin Frozr II
- POWER SUPPLY CoolerMaster Silent Pro M700
- RAM: 2 x Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4gb @1600 MHz (8gb Total) -> Link https://www.pcfactory.cl/producto/9455-DDR3.8GB.(2x.4GB)..1600Mhz.PC3-12800.Vengeance
- HD Western Digital 7200 RPM 500Gb SAT3

Well, my problem is, that i just can't make the bios set the ram to 1800mhz.
Here i took some pictures of my bios configuration. If someone knows a better configuration, please write it in here, because i have not learned enought to make a config on my own.

14839
14840

As you can see, only 1600mhz option appears. And no more. I have seen others bios showing more options, including 2000+
Also, it is known that this rams can go to 1800mhz with some configuration, from the bios itself. But i just dont got the option.
I'm currently using the latest bios available (1703, 64 bits)

If someone can help me, i would be grateful 😄

Well you can try a bios update. But since you overclocked the CPU just lower the cpu ratio and increase the fsb and tadaa 1800 MHz (fyi try 1866)

And on this point a lot of people disagree with me so do what you want. But ddr3 can be clocked @ 1.6 volt for some extra mhz. Zo if 1800 is stable and 1866 just crank it up to 1.6

Hey there, i've got a 1090T @ stock 3.2 with G.Skill RipjawsZ. The problems you are going to face is this:

1) The Thuban CPU's don't support more than 1600MHz RAM speed
2) Your RAM is rated at 1600MHz, you're probably going to run into a lot of problems trying to crank your RAM past it's maximum rating while using a CPU that supports that speed as it's maximum. I have seen some members with Thuban CPU's who have clocked their RAM faster than the 1600 of course....but pretty much all of them have RAM kits that are rated for speeds higher than 1600MHz. But, having said that I am purely making an educated guess, try what Pi83 above me said...it might just work, if not. Sell the kit you have and buy a faster kit 🙂

So, it's the CPU that doesn't support more than 1600mhz on the rams 😧
What would happen if i use another kit of ram, but the same CPU? Only 1600mhz option will be available?

Thuban X6 CPU's can run memory above 2000MHz, I've done it with both a 1090T and 1100T.
Now, you can only increase the memory speed above 1600 by increasing the CPU Bus above 200MHz (default).
For 1800MHz memory, you will need a CPU Bus of 225MHz, but it will also increase the CPU, CPU/NB, and HT Link speeds.
You can try to overclock your 1600 memory, but achieving 1800MHz will be nearly impossible.
Besides, the gain in performance will be minimal at best, so it really ain't worth it.

he is right. I didnt see you had a X6, sorry. Above 1600 is close to useless. Rather lower your timings then overclock your memory
