when i first boot up sometimes my antivirus isnt active,it seems to be working it just shows not active and then it will just turn on,takes anywhere from 10 -30 mins,,,ive uninstalled and reinstalled many times tried to repair many times,it wont turn on till it decides to,then all is well...other issue is when i first push internet explorer it hangs there for about 5-6 secounds, sometimes it pops up fast,,almost seems when 1 page is running the rest pop up fast and normal,,so its the first page that hangs.....i've also uninstalled network driver and reinstalled several times''Intel (r) 82583v gigabit network controler....ive reset cmos, changed sata cables, new HDD with clean install of windows 7 64 bit, moved ram to secound slots, installed 2 new sticks of ram i had already, moved them to secound slots,so right now i have 16gbs of gskill ram running at 1600mhz,crosshair v formula,1090Tx6,asus gtx570 dcII,seagate sata 1 tb,,,,also when my antivirus shows inactive i cant get itunes to open, but ive played games, run prime95 all while the antivirus is inactive and everything seems stable,,,,i,m running 0705 bios version,,and the system is running stock clocks except ram is at XMP 1600mhz 9-9-9-24-40-2T,,,,, i'm lost with this issue,i dont know what else to do,no errors have been shown

Have you tried un-installing your AV software. Since I removed real-time AV my system runs MUCH more stable.

I just had the same exact problem with Revo Uninstaller Pro hanging up for a minute or more each time I tried to run it after a Windows 7 boot. The same thing was happening to two other programs. I contacted Revo & they said that some AV software causes this problem. They had me go into the Windows MS Security Essentials and set Revo in the Excluded Processes section & that fixed the problem with Revo.

Have read several articles eluding that often times AV software IS the virus due to all its slow downs & checking of programs as they are loaded or run the first time after a boot.

I now do not allow any AV to automatically run but instead Manually run it once a week (it never finds anything).

If you un-install of deactivate your AV make absolutely certain to keep all MS Updates current as they are your first line of defense against viruses & other crap.

Cheers;

Retired... and Loving it :cool:

o ya i,ve uninstalled it,repaired it,i dont think it the avg2012 because at the same time i cant open itunes, and also this problem is intermitent,it never did it for weeks,i was sure i got it by resetting cmos, then it came back,,i guess its like its gone for a few days then comes back for a few days,,,a guy at my local pc store said it could be a bad bottleneck using a mechanical hdd my windows experience is 7.5-7.5-7.9-7.9-5.9,,not to sure about that????????.....the only think i have not done is update bios from 0705 ....

I have noticed it takes a bit on a restart .. as does ai suite .. and ati control panel .. forget it .. will not run .. tried it all..
except re install win7 ....
i put mine to sleep mostly ... i have to force myself to restart ... after days ... ( guilt..mostly .. u know .. i should...hahaha)

so what is the issue with letting it start where it does ... are there any other issues or do you suspect virus foul play afoot ?
Mine just wants to run ... skip the restarts .. never gives me crap ............ unless i reboot it ...
best of luck .. i see no issue .. unless you see other issues other than it starting late ...
that could be them .. network issues ... anything ..c.

If possible I would suggest doing a clean install of OS.

Laugh off AVG please. Not going to slag it off but the Microsoft freeware is better.

When you do your install of the OS, if you do that is, remove all the other hard drives except the one you are installing the OS on. Once you have done the install and graphic drivers then only reboot and fit the other storage drives if you are using any.

You will see a different I can promise you.
