Crosshair V + Bulldozer No boot

hi, so all my computer parts have finally arrived

Crosshair V Formula (pre owned)

AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 (new)

Asus Radeon 6970 (Pre owned)

1 x Kombuterbay 4gb 1866mhz ram (new, only 1 dimm)

80gb SATA 7200rpm HDD

Evolabs 700 watt modula power suply

thats the specs, so the motherboard is pre owned, and it isn't in a good state, there is some kind of spillage on the back, it looks like there are tansistors and capacitors missing but in some pictures they are missing on them as well.

I get the 3 lights on, on the start reset and OC buttons ect. No other leds though.

I press the start button, nothing at all happens, I've reinstalled the cpu 2 times and tried booting with other things.

I'm guessing now it could be an issue with having only 1 dimm slot being used?

Thanks for reading, I would really like to get this working by tonight 🙂

EDIT: I;
'm only using the 8 pin motherboard connector not the 4 pin, as I've read the manual and it says i dont need it

I guess the best place to ask this is right here... There are others out here that know more than myself but my suggestion would be. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233246 But this might be a little extreme.

thats way out i only can afford around £40 / $50. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9-1600MHz-Vengeance-Memory/dp/B004CRSM4I/ref=sr_1_1?i... seams the best... i dont want to install pdr read on here so i cant see the vendor list

do you think it would be acceptable to ask on another thread? or not really worth it

edit: already quite a lot nvm

That's another set I've seen people say was very good and it looks like it might be a good choice. as to another thread it might get noticed faster but I think they frown upon it...I'd just wait and see...maybe HiVisMan will put in an appearance, he's about the best here.

Corsair Vengeance is decent memory, but I would opt for the G.Skill RipjawsX series.

I run RipjawsX memory in most of my builds, including this rig.
Intel i9 10850K@ 5.3GHz
ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E
Corsair H115i Pro XT
G.Skill TridentZ@ 3600MHz CL14 2x16GB
EVGA RTX 3090 Ti FWT3 Ultra
OS: WD Black SN850 1TB NVMe M.2
Storage: WD Blue SN550 2TB NVMe M.2
EVGA SuperNova 1200 P2
ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601

Hey death or can I call you rune??? 😄

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/radeon-memory/pages/system-memory.aspx

Can not go wrong with these babies. Bet you did not know that AMD made their own ram.

PNY’s XLR8 MD8192KD3-1600-X9 Are great ram for AMD and at a outstanding price last time I looked.
