The best I can tell is you need 3027 to run a FX on that AM3 board. That is a beta bios and the cpu list says that is what you need. I know the one you used is newer, but it may only be for AM3 cpus and not the FX. You should get a CHV. I know the IV was nice, but she don't hold a candle to the V. IMO.

Hey everyone. I'm new here and stumbled upon you guys looking for what happened to my board. Here is my problem and what I'm running.
CPU: AMD 8120 with Coolermaster V8 Heatsink
Board: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
RAM: Corsair 12gb ddr31600
SSD: 60GB Microcenter brand
HDD: 320GB Seagate
GPU: 2 Asus 6870 DirectCU in Crossfire @ 915mhz each
PSU: Corsair 850watt
So I was wiping everything and reinstalling a fresh copy of W7 and starting from scratch. I got everything wiped, installed, updated, drivers installed, and running smooth, but then at the very end I thought I'd flash the most recent bios, I don't know why, my system was running great, but I guess I just thought since I'm updating everything, minus well do the bios too. So I downloaded the 2101 bios from ASUS website, put it on a FAT32 formatted USB stick, and using EZ Flash 2 I flashed the new bios. The EX flash recognized the bios, checked it, said it was OK, then successfully installed the new bios. When done, it said system restart required and automatically restarted my system. Well, it never restarted. I now just get a black screen, GPU fans spin, but CPU fan no longer spins and the fan control does not work. I have a solid red Q-LED CPU light that is on from the push of the power on button.
I've tried ton's of things. Using ROG from my laptop, unseating everything from the board, letting it sit over night, and reseating everything (redid processor and heat-sink as well). All of this to no avail. I am really hoping that my boards not done. I called Asus, and after waiting 30min 3 times and talking to someone 3 times who took my name and number and said they'd call me back, I called one more time to finally talk to someone. They didn't want to walk me through any diagnostics, just said I need a new bios chip. So I have a new bios chip ordered but it won't be here until Wed at the earliest. I really hope the bios chip will fix this problem, but any insight or suggestions or experience with any of this would be great to hear from you guys. I spent days reading other posts while waiting to get approved by a moderator, and you guys are a nice tight knit community which is awesome. So, any responses, ideas, or recommendations from anyone is greatly appreciated. Also, just curious is this version of the bios has caused anyone else problems. Thanks in advance!
