Hello everyone,
It's with a troubled heart that I come here today, because this build has costed me so much and now it's not functioning properly. I had this issue back in New Year's Eve where I just resorted in clearing the CMOS and it powered up normally; however, now it won't power up no matter what I do. So what exactly is going on?
To be more specific, if the computer has been off (switch on the back of the PSU off or surge protector/estabilizer off), when I flip that switch back on (meaning the computer starts receiving stand-by power), I see the lights on the motherboard come on. However, when I press the PWR button on the case, the computer won't start at all (no fans, no lights indicating the booting sequences, no nothing). Like I said, I had this issue resolved by clearing the CMOS (I figured out that a corrupt CMOS wouldn't know how tell the computer to power up), but after a week or so the problem has returned to haunt to my chagrin.
As the title implies, I noticed that the NB LED (a pretty ROG logo that I could've sworn turned on shortly after the other lights) would turn on briefly, only to fade away gradually (rather fast) and then come up again in a loop. Here's a video (the flash is the camera by the way):
This is why I come to you right now, because I've got no idea what's going on and this is an expensive build (it's barely a couple of years old). For the record, I don't do overclocking, but I thought buying a resistant OC motherboard would somehow last me a the longest.
Please, help me get around this issue and thanks in advance.
Hi Pringles and Welcome to ROG. Sorry for the late response, I only just noticed it.
Your symptoms are that of a failing PSU or MB component failure. You will need to Swap out your PSU with a known working PSU to eliminated that possibility. If this persists then it will be the MB.
