Crosshair 5 Formula Z no longer state of the art!

I read a review by Red 1776 on Overclock.net of the Ssus Sabertooth rev 2.o motherboard. It has features that permit higher overclocking than on Crosshair V formula Z. My question is why would Asus first introduce more advanced features on the Sabertooth rev 2.0, instead of the flagship board for AMD, the Crosshair V Formula Z? It is a kick in the teeth to all of us who pliunked down very good money to have a product that is NOT superior to a less expensive motherboard design. Asus has betrayed us in my book. They should be kicked to the curb. Please read the review on Overclock.net you will see that that board has 2 or 3 advanced features that we do not have on the Crosshair V Formula Z. I just bought mine last month, so I really am pissed at Asus for one upping Formula Z users. I had a Crosshair V Formula before the Formula Z.

Mate you are aware that the Z board is over a year old. The TUF range of boards are pretty darn good and this latest one will have benifited from being purpose built for the latest generation of AMD processors.

And while I do understand your frustration at having just bought a Z only to find that a week later there is a board that appears to be better at overclocking than you Z board. If you are unhappy you are still able to return your board within the 30 day rule and get this newer one if you like. Because at the end of the day you as the customer needs to be happy with your product.

Regardless of that reviewers point of view which I am very pleased to see the TUF board perform so well as it might just be that his combination of hardware works best on the TUF board. I still think the ROG CHVz is the premium board for AMD.

I love this C5FZ board...i hope it never dies on me...I agree with HiVizMan...I believe this board is indeed the flagship motherboard AM3+ sockets.
This PCB also has 8 pin and + 4 pin 12v in comparison to Sabertooth R2.0 and the ram goes to 2400 in comparison to 1866 for Sabertooth R2.0...ROG are the best, no doubt of that...They make there hardware to last and in terms of features they implement the best that's out there when is released...I really love all the buttons, features and sound. I rank it 10 from a scale 1-10.

i still have the cvf board the first one and i love it. it will be the board for me for three more years by then i'll do another upgrade.

exactly skelletar my chv is my fave motherboard of all time so far and is staying mine until it dies but the chv z pissed me off lolz never mind the fact sabertouths oc better but OP is right in a way Asus's top board keeps getting spanked by there second, more differentiation pls asus.

It is hard to design and build a new top end motherboard when there is nothing to build it for... Seriously just how much different in design or architecture is there between what AMD have on offer now and in the short term. I seriously would love AMD to come out with a CPU that forced vendors to produce a whole new motherboard. Come on AMD make us all happy.

Give us AMD users some love that intel boards get :cool: - I just want the next amd rog board to have tri/quad channel ram

That's why Haswell-E is going from 2011 to 2011-3 mate, from what I have read and somewhat understand is there are major underlying changes in the CPU Circuitry plus changes to Motherboards to be made to accommodate next Gen DDR, or even just going from Dual Channel to Quad Channel as an example...the changes start at the CPU, then work their way out to the Motherboard. And since Memory controllers are now on die, this is also the reason the changes need to be made to the CPU's circuitry...if Memory Controllers were still on Motherboards and there wasn't a huge change in the pathways(the throughput lanes) We could probably swap out chips and enjoy DDR4, though of course I don't recall any Mfr releasing chips to the general public that they can swap out at will :cool:
