Yes this motherboard does support UEFI booting.
The first step is to access the BIOS and see if the storage controller has detected the hard disk. With your hard disk being 7 years old do you have a old IDE/PATA Hard Disk? The reason I ask is that this motherboard has no PATA/IDE ports on it unless you are using a PATA/IDE to SATA Converter which could also be your problem.
