CPU & CPU OPT Fan Header Functionality

Got a slight issue.

Using 6 fans, 2 x chassis @ 70%, 2 x opt @ 70%

Other 2 are in CPU but no matter what I set the BIOS to, they always run at 100%.

This is either as silent or manual with max 70% speed. Using BIOS 2005, anyone else had this issue? might have to get a resistor in the wire to solve it otherwise.

two fans on one header? if so, how are they wired to the one header?

I think you need 4 pin PWM fans if you want to control them on the CPU headers.

Separate headers, 1 in CPU_FAN and the other in CPU_OPT.

Since the original post, now I don't even get a fan speed reading from CPU_FAN, still running at full pelt though.

I'm pretty sure this isn't true as the PWM headers can also be ran as 3-pin headers which standard fan control, correct me if I'm wrong? I have a MVE and as far as I know I was running 3 fans off 1 header and created a fan profile in the UEFI

if u want to control cpu fan speed u need at-least 1 pwm fan connected to cpu fan header , and cpu opt_fan header works
according to cpu fan header ( where u connected pwm fan ) , right now i am using coolermaster pwm fans because stock
H100 fans are always run @ full speed .

I use 4 (yes, push-pull) Excalibur fans on my H100, all on CPU fan control as they are also on two Y adapters. And the fan speed control works beautifully. I do not have the H100 feedback wire connected - it's useless IMO. FYI.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

Perfect answer...about xt107
You must be install at-least 1 pcs PWM fan...
Otherwise, total CPU fan will be run at 100%
