CPU 100% load after disabling processor idle

Hey guys, I have exposed a hidden power option in windows to allow me to disable processor idle state, This works and the computer feels ALOT faster & smoother (even though C-states are disabled in the BIOS?), But for some reason in windows 10 I get 100% CPU use and nothing in the task manager is using a single % I selected "show kernel times" in the task manager and it's the kernel holding my cpu at 100% usage.

I was wondering if any of you guys with a "Rampage IV Extreme" on ANY version of windows could try this mod and tell me if their CPU sits at 100% usage? I have tried this on a different computer in my house running windows 7 and it DOES NOT do the 100% usage thing...

Basically if anyone can try this on their computer, It would be really appreciated if you could report back with 2 things:

1. Does your CPU stay at a normal low CPU usage?, OR does it get stuck at 100% CPU usage?
2. What version of windows are you running?

If you wanna try this, it's a registry edit that will expose the CPU idle option in the power options.

Step 1.
open search, and find "regedit" and open it.

Step 2.
Find this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-2158492d58ad

Step 3.
Double click on "attributes" on the right side and change the value to 0 then click ok.

Step 4.
Open your advanced power settings and expand the "processor power management" tab

Step 5.
Change the newly exposed option called "processor idle disable" change it to "disable idle" BUT BEFORE YOU CLICK APPLY... open task manager and watch your CPU usage, It should be normal before you click "apply". But after you click apply does it go to 100% CPU usage? Or does it stay the same?
JUST CHANGE IT BACK IF IT GOES UP TO 100% CPU USAGE. (bug??)

I'm not sure if it's Windows/Driver or the Motherboard causing this on my rampage iv extreme, But my other computer running windows 7 doesn't do this at all, I can disable this option on my other computer and the CPU stays at 0% usage, But on my rampage iv extreme + windows 10 though this same option causes 100% CPU load for no apparent reason.

Any ideas guys?
Thanks, Dustin.

What reporting software are you using? Windows Task Manager is good enough for a quick-n-dirty overview but it's a shamefully inaccurate and incomplete tool.

I'm inclined to think your CPU is working well enough - assuming your Reghacks don't break anything - but Win10 is a patchy cantankerous kludge full of recycled bugs and sloppy workarounds. You might be able to verify your CPU usage statistics with a different Windows OS version (or different OS entirely, if you can replicate your hacks on it).
