Covered by warranty?

Hi, currently have a Crosshair V Formula-Z that caught on fire the other day. When I was looking through the warranty conditions, it said that it does not cover fire damage. Does this mean external fire damage, or damage caused by the motherboard itself? I don't want to have to pay a ton of money for repair when it wasn't my fault that it caught on fire.

Sorry but I am not an Asus employee so I will not be able to comment on what is/isn't covered.

But I am extremely curious as to how/what conditions your motherboard would produce fire if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks.

I was doing a test bench with the motherboard. I had just tested all of the components with an ASRock motherboard that booted fine. I then swapped out the ASRock for the Asus. After flipping the power, there was an audible zap and the motherboard caught fire right next to the northbridge heatsink.

Well people think I'm crazy because I keep a fire extinguisher next to my bench...I've never had to use it yet but one never knows.

Bummer on the motherboard mate; hope you can get it sorted.

Now that I've had a motherboard catch on fire, I'll definitely make sure to keep my desk clear of anything flammable. I'm quite lucky nothing else was damaged (like my two monitors right behind the bench).
