just got 2 X 4GB sticks of CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9R
but they will not run stable at 1866 ghz all sorts of problems with start up
1866MHz, 9-10-9-27, 1.5V is what they are rated at but no joy here
at the moment i have them running at 1600 mhz 8.8.8.24 stable any help would be apreciated thanks.

What UEFI version ?

Some of the Vengeance modules use Hynix ICs I think - and that stuff isn't really that good at high levels of IO (data throughput).

With older CPUs, you will likely need to bump CPU/NB voltage quite high and also relax some of the sub-timings. Lastly, maybe even fiddle with drive strengths to get DDR3-1866.

CPU/NB voltage depends on how good your memory controller is.

My CPU is not that old a phenomII 1090t
it is strange my older Mushkin ram runs fine at 1866

Depends on the IC. The info I gave in my initial response tells you what you need to do. Have you tried those settings yet?


Only other option is to contact support in your region and see what they suggest.

Okay got it working not 100% at the moment but its stable i think little bit more tweaking
at the moment i got

bus speed 232.8MHz
ht link 2095 MHz
NB Freq 2095MHz
DRam Freq 931.1MHz
9.10.9.27
is that ok or do you think i can go better this is with standard voltage
