Corsair memory

I noticed that corsair isnt listed in the QVL list for this Mobo... unfortunatley i noticed too late. I have 8 GB (2 x CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 CMT4GX3M2B2133C9 ) and try as i might i can not get this stuff to run at its normal speeds. I set it to XMP and i even up the voltage to 1.65 from 1.5 and its still not stable. Any ideas or should i order new mem sticks?

DDR3-2133MHz may need a slight bump to VCCIO. Try raining in 0.025V steps and see if that helps. Failing that use a flash drive to save your BIOS screenshots and upload them and we'll make some suggestions. We might be able to get the RAM working (can't guarantee it, but worth a shot), which will save you forking out for some more.

Ok, it isn't going to be easy for you to run 4 sticks of that memory at DDR3-2133. Most kits are binned at 4GB configuration.

Use a BCLK of 100 with the 2133 Memory ratio, don't use XMP. Leave the memory timings on auto first. Set the VDIMM yourself manually to the specified level. Don't apply any kind of CPU overclock yet either. Boot into Windows and see if the system is stable. If it is we can move on to step 2.

Raja,

So you are saying i would have more succes if i went with only 4gb or purchased an 8gb set?

Hi John,

Generally speaking, yes - and an 8GB kit that has been binned for Sandy Bridge specifically if it is rated at speeds over DDR3-1333.

Different architectures have different abilities with various DRAM ICs. In any case can you please tell me what happens when you use AUTO timings, with the rated VDIMM at 100 BCLK on the 2133 memory ratio please?

You can try getting 4GB stable first if you like.
