Corsair memory

I noticed that corsair isnt listed in the QVL list for this Mobo... unfortunatley i noticed too late. I have 8 GB (2 x CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 CMT4GX3M2B2133C9 ) and try as i might i can not get this stuff to run at its normal speeds. I set it to XMP and i even up the voltage to 1.65 from 1.5 and its still not stable. Any ideas or should i order new mem sticks?

Ok here are the SS of my OC 4.6/4 mb 2133 (2 dims)

Thanks
John

An update
Got the 8gb working! added the new dims, rebooted without making any changes in the bios and it booted up fine.
ran memtestpro had errors so i increased the VCCIO from 1.1 to 1.131
ran memtestpro had fewer errors so i upped the dram voltage from 1.5 to 1.55
ran memtestpro had no errors, ran it for 30 mins, then i ran prime for 30 mins with zero errors. I have rebooted and it seems fine.
question will these voltages hurt me? I will try to play with the cpu OC this weekend but earlier i had 4.9 with no issue on the 4gb.

here is a screen shot of what i have now. All of the bios setting are the same as above aside from the 2 voltages i increased.

BTW i am doing all the tweaks with RCTweakIt from my laptop, it works great!!!!

Thanks
John

I just noticed something, my bios is back at 1204. I must have toggles over to the secondary bios at some point. Does this mean bios 1409 was part of my issue?

It is possible but if that is the case it may be in one of the sub-timing changes.

Set tRR (DD) to 3 instead of 1 and tRR (DR) to 3 when using all your DIMMs.

The voltages you are using are fine. With those settings changed you may not need as much VDIMM or VCCIO (experiment though).

did some experimenting this morning here is what i know.

the first bios is set to 1204 and the second is 1409
when i switch between the bios and reboot i get an "Asus is updating firmware" message and this cycle happes twice before the machine boots

all testing done with the 8gb in the machine.

the settings above that I have working with 1204 will NOT boot with 1409.
1409 will only boot when the multiplyer is set to Auto (no OC).
with 1409 i get memory errors durring prime and memtest with the voltage settings that work with 1204.

i have not tried your mem settings yet but will at lunch time.

Hi DJC

It is a good idea not to use two BIOSes that have FW update differences (especially if there are OROM or other changes that need specific drivers). If the 1204 works well for your system, then stick with that for now. Or stay on 14** and work on the differences.

So i have both bioses flashed to 1204 and both are setup identically. I realized that with my OC PLL has to be enabled. When i leave it disabled my pc gets hung at the windows startup screen

My settings are now as follows:
46 multi
PLL OV Enabled
Memory @ 2133
VDIMM 1.55
VCCIO 1.15
TRR DD 3
TRR RR 3
Hot plugable for all drives enabled

BTW its still somewhat flaky but it could be due to the OCZ SSD Vert3 i have. I will keep it like this until a new Mobo bios comes out or a firmware for the drive. if that doesnt make it right i will pick up some new memory

Been fighting with my OCZ drive and their tec support. Many people are have BSOD with the new SATAIII SSD drives that have the SF 2000 chipset. OCZ just released a new firmware and so far so good.

Regarding memory, I have pulled out my Corsair memory and picked up 8mb (2x4gb) of G Skill F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD. Set my XMP profile (2133 mhz) and its ROCK STABLE.. running a 4.7 oc now with no issue, went to 5.1 as well. Runing BIOS 1303 for now, 1409 just didnt do it for me.

Thanks for your help Raja!

Regards
John
BTW I have some Corsair memory for sale if anyone is interested 😄
