Computer Shuts down under load.

So I just rebuilt my PC using a Maximus V Formula board with a 3570K and 2x 680s. Today I was trying to run a benchmark (3dMark 11) and when it got most of the way through the computer shuts down. I am unable to restart the computer without letting it set for a few minutes. In addition the start button built onto the board is dim and flickering.

At first I thought it may be a thermal issue however my temps are staying well within norm. So I went to troubleshooting. I set bios back to default. No overclocking, etc. Same results. I finally removed my second video card and the problem went away. So it seems like it is a power issue. Power supply is an OCZ ZT 750 so it should be more than sufficient to power this system.

Here is the final interesting thing. This I never had trouble running this benchmark before. the only things that have changed is that I switch the board from a P8Z77-V pro to the Formula and used the MPCIE car to install a 120gb SSD for my OS.

Thoughts? I have to be missing something here.

Since I game at 1440P there is the possibility of doing 2 780Ti eventually.

With 2 780Ti, you can game at 4K if you decided to go down that road.

Sadly the rest of my machine is not up to 4K gaming.
The power supply has continues to deteriorate. I get +5 warnings all the time now. I ordered a new 1000 watt power supply last night. Ended up going EVGA because of a Newegg sale. Not top of the line but should be fine I would hope.

That's a bugger. I too game at 1440p with my single GTX 670 card. I got my eye on 4K next year (4K monitors are too expensive in the UK at the moment) and planning major upgrading to my PC. I never had EVGA for power supply but the Supernova (G2 or P2?) have good reviews from what I read.

Is the G2 or P2 that much better?

Nah, you bought a good power supply that will do the job efficiently.

Well.... New Power supply in. Played Some MWO. Was talking to my wife after a match and the computer shut down again.

I am only OCing to 4.4. Should I be using the Aux PCU power as well?

Thought I would give everyone an update.

Something else I had noticed after more testing was heat. While the CPU was reporting back normal temps along with the MB sensors, I could feel the heat coming off the computer. When I took the side panel off it was really bad. I touched the back of one of my Graphics cards and it was so hot it burned.

I called up ASUS and they RMA'ed the board. It took them a week to the day to get it back to me. They tried fixing it but according to the tech they were not happy with the results so they replaced it completely. So far so good with the replacement.

The irony is that the repair center is about 15 minutes from my house. But I still had to mail the thing off. Would be nice if I could have just dropped it off at the front desk.
